Dolphins likely to release Suh

NFL Insider Ian Rapport has reported that the Dolphins are likely to release Defensive Tackle, Ndamukong Suh. If you’re staying up to the date with free agency, this rumor has been circling for the past month. Based on the Dolphins actions over the last week or so, its clear they are trying to free up cap space, however the Dolphins do have a habit of shipping out their top players at haste.

Suh, three years ago was the highest paid defensive player the league had ever seen, signing a six-year contract worth $114 million. We have seen the Dolphins seemingly give away their star players for very low value draft picks, for example, Ajayi for a fourth-round pick and Landry for a fourth and seventh round pick. This has bolstered rumours that Suh could be more of a locker room based decision (much like Ajayi was) that a performance based one, a trait we have seen with Adam Gase. Where will Suh end up, who knows, but wherever he does land, it’s clear that team will be winning and the Dolphins will be losing out in this move.

LT Cody Glenn shipped to the Bengals

The Bengals are making moves to add that all needed protection around Andy Dalton. The Buffalo Bills have accepted the Bengals 12th pick in the first round and the Bengals will move to the Bills 21st pick in the first round, as well as a swapping in order of fith and sixth round picks with Buffalo moving to 158th and the Bengals moving to 187th.

The Bengals are in desperate need of an offensive line after losing Andrew Whitworth and Kevin Zeitler which really affected their lines production surrounding 40 sacks in 2017. The Bengals are however taking a risk, Glenn was limited to only 6 games in 2017 due to multiple injuries and hasn’t played a complete season since 2015. This will be an interesting move for the Bengals and one that only time will provide an answer as to how effective the move was. However, from the Bills point of view, they have now moved up to 12th overall in the first round, cleared some cap space, and are now in a position to make a play for their future QB.

Vikings extend hand to Drew Brees

Out of all the teams around the league, the Vikings had the most wiggle room when it came to Quarterbacks. They had the ability to lay their hands-on Case Keenum, Teddy Bridgewater and Kik Cousins. But in an unexpected move, they have called Drew Brees to enquire as to his appetite to move North.

At the tender age of 39, Brees has showed no signs of stopping, completing 72 passes in 2017 for 4,334 yards and 23 touchdowns and only eight interceptions. The Vikings fell shy of the Super Bowl by one win, and its seen that by adding a QB of Bree’s ability will reignite their changes of a Super Bowl appearance in 2018.

Jags WR Allen Robinson is off to Chicago

Not much information on this trade as its fairly raw. However, its expected that the Jags wide receiver Allen Robinson, will sign with the Chicago Bears. Robinson suffered a torn ACL in week 1 of the 2017 season which saw him out of action.

Hi standout season has so far been 2015 where he caught 80 passes, for 1,400 yards and scored 14 touchdowns. We will bring you more on this story once it becomes known.

2017 Standout QB, Case Keenum to sign with the Broncos

Its apparent that the Broncos are not waiting around for the usual free agency QB frenzy and it is reported that Case Keenum will sign with the Broncos when Free Agency officially opens. The move in general has come as a surprise to most as the Broncos were expected to make a play for Kirk Cousins, however, Elway has clearly reconsidered and is not willing to pay the price that Cousins has attached to him.

Keenum is coming of his best season so far in the league. Keenum had to step up in September when Sam Bradford went down with a knee injury. That season saw Keenum lead the Vikings to their most successful season in the last few years. They were one win away from appearing in Super Bowl 52.

It’s thought that Keenum will be the starter for the 2018 season for the Broncos, however, some sources are still saying that Denver will go with a QB in the 2nd or 2rd round, and the name Riley Fergusson has been branded about.

Either way, the 2018 season will demonstrate to every NFL fan if Keenums 2017 was a one off, or whether that was the start of something great for Kennum. It is clear though that the Broncos need a QB they can trust. Since the departure of Peyton Manning, it’s been difficult to fill those cleats. Fingers crossed that Keenum is the answer, at least for 2018.
