Once in a while, something special happens. That is exactly what we have here with David Ojabo. Born in Nigeria and moving to Scotland in 2007, David had never played a down of football till last summer and now, he has offers from: Michigan, Texas A&M, Penn State, Ohio State and Notre Dame.

The video below highlights just how talented David is. And again, lets remember, he had NEVER played a down of Football until last summer.
We wanted to get a better understanding off how David sees the opportunity he has been given and what he plans to do with it.
Q. Let's start at the beginning, where were you born?
A. I was born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
Q. What took you from Nigeria to Scotland?
A. My dad's job transferred him over to Scotland in 2007.
Q. Did you ever play American Football in Scotland?
A. No, i played my first year of Football last summer. I only played soccer and basketball.
Q. I've read that you initially went over to the states to play basketball and soccer, how did that then lead to Football?
A. So i was playing basketball and soccer for the first year in the States and then in the spring i did track & field. There is where i met the head Football coach who overlooked the field events. He noticed my size and asked me if i wanted to play Football. I was very hesitant at first because there was a lot of contact involved in the sport, but i later came to him and committed to playing in the fall.
Q. How does a kid from Scotland end up becoming one of the hottest college recruits in America?
A. God's plan. Honestly, i wake up everyday and ask myself that question. Just over 2 years ago, i was walking the streets of Aberdeen with my friends, and then now i'm on the front page of the Scottish newspaper. I do not take this for granted. I know this is a blessing and i want to use this platform for good and to inspire the young ones to chase their dreams. Often people ask me where Scotland even is on the map, my goal is to give Scotland a name over in the United States to the best of my ability.
Q. You have 5 of the top college teams who have offered you a place, how does that feel and does that help build your confidence in your ability to play the game professionally in the NFL? And is playing in the NFL the dream?
A. It is one step closer to achieving my dream of going to the NFL. In this sport, you have to take it one step at a time and go day by day. From a top 5, i will break it down to my final decision and that will be the next chapter in my life. My confidence in the game has grown and i am starting to become more comfortable in my God given abilities combined with the high level coaching i get form my DLine coach: Mike Coyle.
Q. Are you close to a decision, and what goes into making a decision like that?
A. The decision is lingering; could be within the next month or after summer. My relationship with the coaches plays a big part in my decision, but ultimately, it is the kind of education i will receive. Like i said, this is all a blessing, so it would make no sense to pick a school that does not offer up the best education along with the best Football.
Q. And last but not least, what would you say to a kid in the UK who wants to head over to the States to pursue their dreams?
A. Do not be intimidated by the people over there. Just keep your head down and work hard. Honestly, my first year over here was the worst year i had ever had. I went from starting on the Scottish national squad to sitting on the bench in my new high school. If i had quit then and there, i would not be where i am today. "Hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard", that is is a quote i live by because in the US, there is A LOT of talent; it all comes down to who wants it more and who is willing to work the hardest.
We will be following David's journey very closely as he prepares to make his final decision on which school he will attend next year. We know that big things are coming for David.
