Joe Zema Interview

Q. Only 1 week now until the Draft, are you excited or nervous?

A. A bit of a mix! I'm just trying to enjoy the process and the experience.

Q. Where will you be Draft weekend?

A. Most likely at my girlfriends house, with all my family being back in Australia.

Q. How has the build up to the Draft been for you personally, have you achieved everything you

wanted to?

A. Yeah its been a really exciting experience, doing lots of phone calls. Im happy with my overall preparation and think i've put myself in a good position.

Q. Which team (if you can say) has shown the most interest in you so far?

A. I guess a few teams have show interest including the Vikings, Packers, Saints, Texans, Jaguars and Eagles.

Q. Who else from Incarnate Word should we expect to see drafted next weekend?

A. I'd say keep an eye out for Jamari Gilbert

Q. What is your first memory of watching Football?

A. My first memory of watching football was playing in the same game! Coming from Australia last August my first live game i saw i actually played in!

Q. Who, in your career, has taught you most about the game?

A. I'd say my punt coach last year, Hunter Holmes. Being new to the game, and Special Teams in particular. Head Coach Larry Kennan and Special Teams Coach Polo Guiterrez also taught me a lot.

Q. What is your biggest strength and weakness?

A. My biggest strength and weakness i think is my 1 year of experience. It can be seen as a strength as i performed well in my one and only season and have a lot of potential. But on the flip side it can be seen that i also need some more development.

Q. Which current NFL player do you try and emulate the most?

A. I emulate Johnny Hekker as he is considered one of, if not the best punter in the NFL. I also emulate Jordan Berry, a fellow Australian and follow his journey and see him as a kind of leader for us Aussies.
